My Creed

To live each day as if I knew

'Twould be the last in which to do

The kindly things for those in need,

Or talk to God with whom I plead.

That I may understanding be

And keep my mind both clean and free

From every evil, every guile,

That I may meet life with a smile.

To live each day the best I can

To keep the faith with God and man,

To keep my soul and body clean,

My actions free from all things mean;

To live each day as if for me--

The last before Eternity.
